Feeling nauseous after taking your multivitamins? This is why it happens and this can help you.

Do you often experience nausea after taking your multivitamins? That is of course very annoying. Fortunately, there are several things you can do to combat a nauseous feeling. In this blog we explain what causes nausea and we give tips to reduce it.

Nausea

Why do multivitamins make you feel nauseous?

Why do multivitamins make you feel nauseous? Some people feel nauseous after taking a WLS multivitamin. This may be because your stomach, esophagus or small intestine is sensitive. In addition, the high dosage of vitamins and minerals is a possible cause. Iron in particular, which is contained in multivitamins, can cause a reaction.

The moment of intake, how you take the multivitamin and the combination with food can also lead to nausea. At FitForMe we are continuously working on improving our multivitamins to reduce the risk of nausea and vomiting.

Tips for nausea from multivitamins

It is important to take your multivitamins on a full stomach. Have you recently had your stomach reduction operation? Then wait until you can eat solid food before taking your multivitamin.

Can you eat solid food yet? Then you may find the following tips helpful:

Another moment of taking

  • Take the multivitamin during or immediately after a meal. Not on an empty stomach.
  • Experiment after which meal it is best to take the multivitamin. Maybe you don't like the multivitamin after breakfast, but it does after dinner.
  • Take the multivitamin before bedtime. When you sleep you don't feel nauseous.

A different way of taking it

  • Take the multivitamin with green tea. Is water heavy? Then you can also try a sugar-free drink.
  • You can break open the capsule and mix the contents with your food.
  • Do you use the WLS Forte or WLS Optimum capsules? These are also available as a chewable tablet. This may work better for you.

We are happy to help you

Nausea or vomiting after the operation is anything but pleasant. Hopefully the above tips are of some use to you.

Are you still feeling nauseous? Nausea after gastric bypass surgery can have various causes. You can read more about it in our blog about nausea.
