Rotterdam, NL - FitForMe has launched three once-daily multivitamin soft chews for people undergoing significant weight loss. As obesity rates rise, more patients require long-term supplementation after medical weight loss treatment or bariatric surgery. WLS Forte Soft Chew, WLS Optimum Soft Chew, and Support-1 Soft Chew were developed in response to this need. According to FitForMe data, up to 58.5 percent of non-users report gastrointestinal complaints from multivitamin use and 85.4 percent of them cite nausea as the main issue. The soft chew format is intended to reduce these barriers and support consistent use.
This launch comes at a time when more than one billion people worldwide are living with obesity. Those who lose significant weight may face an increased risk of vitamin and mineral deficiencies due to lower food intake and changes in nutrient absorption.
The growing use of GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists is bringing millions of new patients into medical weight-loss care, sharply expanding the number of people who may require long-term specialist supplementation. FitForMe's soft chews are among the first products formulated specifically to support this broader group—not just post-bariatric patients— reflecting the convergence of two rapidly expanding areas in healthcare.
The right format
Designed for the physiological changes that follow significant weight loss, the new products deliver 18 essential vitamins and minerals in a once-daily soft chew.
“Traditional supplements are designed for a ‘normal’ digestive system,” said Edo Aarts, bariatric surgeon and founder of Overgewicht Nederland and WeightWorks. “Many people who pursue weight loss experience physiological changes that make standard formats hard to tolerate or sustain. FitForMe designed their specialised soft chew multivitamins from the ground up by reengineering the delivery format.”
Technical breakthrough
Soft chew supplements face challenges like ingredient density, stability, taste, and manufacturing consistency. The new chews address these challenges through proprietary formulation and engineering designed to provide:
Patient partnership
The development process involved close collaboration with patients, using real-world feedback to guide decisions on format, flavor, texture, and tolerability. In early testing, nausea and pill burden emerged as primary barriers to adherence. Through nutrition-led support teams and patient‑informed innovation, FitForMe gathers firsthand insights into the lived experience of obesity treatment, helping to reduce stigma, strengthen trust, and empower patients to take control of their health.
“The challenge was not only developing supplements aligned with nutritional needs, but ensuring they could be made reliably at scale with clean-label ingredients in a format people will actually take,” said JC Heyneke, CEO of FitForMe. “This breakthrough matters because consistent use is essential for nutritional support to have impact, whether someone is losing weight through surgery, medications, or lifestyle programs.”
The new products are available via FitForMe’s website and complement the company’s existing portfolio of nutritional products for individuals experiencing significant weight loss.
