Forgetting to take your multivitamins: here's how to prevent it

Everyone forgets to take their multivitamins once in a while. That’s no big deal. But do you regularly forget to take them? Then the following tips might help you. They’ll make your daily intake a lot easier.

1. Use an app with notifications

2. Link your intake to an existing habit

We all have habits that we do at roughly the same time every day—like brushing your teeth before bed, or having a cup of coffee after lunch. These actions are done almost automatically and rarely forgotten.

By combining your supplement intake with one of these habits, you’ll be less likely to forget. So when you brush your teeth, take your multivitamins too. Associating the intake with a familiar habit makes it easier to build a new one.

3. Keep your supplements in a visible spot

Put your multivitamins somewhere you’ll definitely see them—where you go every day. Think: next to your coffee machine or toothbrush. When you’re there for your daily routine, your vitamins will be there too. Easy!

4. Use a pill box with daily compartments

There are handy pill boxes available at pharmacies with each day of the week labeled. Fill them with your multivitamins and place the box in a visible spot. That way, you’ll know at a glance whether you’ve taken them already.

Do you take other medications at different times? Then consider a larger pill box with separate compartments for morning, afternoon, and evening. This helps you stay organized.
